How to Protect Yourself

from Bacteria, Germs, and Viruses

Dr. David Hill

We welcome you to Training CD #70 from the 2004 Nashville Semi-Annual Convention, a highly informative lecture by Dr. David Hill on how to protect yourself from viruses, bacteria, and germs by using Young Living Essential Oils and Supplements.

Dr. David Hill - Rule of Thumb!

A long time ago I heard Gary say, “If you are a little bit nervous about something, and if you are trying to clear your head or you have to take an exam, take a little Clarity and put it on your thumb and stick it on the roof of your mouth and suck your thumb for a little bit!”

My wife was looking at me funny as I was sucking my thumb, so I went backstage. I just didn’t know I was going to be sucking my thumb for an extra 15 or 20 minutes–so I have to thank you, Gary!

I’m Using the “Ink” Tonight!

Last night as I was getting ready to do this presentation I was talking with my wife and she said, “Well, aren’t you prepared?” and I said, “Well, of course I am. Why wouldn’t I be? I’m prepared, but you always like to make sure that you are doing the very best you possibly can.”

Some of you may know that I brought my young six year-old son with me to this event as well. You’ve just got to love him! He was listening to his mother and I talk about that and he said, “Dad, don’t you know–you just do your presentation in pencil and then when you get it right, then you go back over it with the ink!” So I am going to go through it with the ink today.

Coming Full-Circle

I saw something I thought was kind of funny and thought maybe you might get a kick out of it. It goes like this: “Doctor, I have an earache.”

In 2000 BC they said, “Here, use this oil.”

In 1000 BC they said, “That oil is heathen–say this prayer.”

In 1850 AD the prayer is replaced by, “Drink this potion.”

Then we went on to 1940 and they said, “That potion is made of snake oils, swallow this pill.”

Then we went to 1985 an they said, “The pill is ineffective, take this antibiotic.”

Now in 2004 we are saying, “That antibiotic is artificial–here use this oil.” So we have come 100% full circle–that should be really exciting!

Creating Immune Response

I want to share some things with you that I hope you will feel some compassion about. I am going to make this very simple so I am going to speak in some general terms. I want to speak about immune response because one of the basic things that the essential oils will do for you is create greater immunity within the body. I am going to tell you how this really works.

Essentially, you have two different types of immune response within your body. One is called a “humoral immune response” and the other is called a “cell mediated response or cell mediated immunity.” Humoral response deals with the blood of your body. In other words, if you have free-floating bacteria or viruses associated with your body, it is a humoral response when your immune system tries to attack that. If you have viruses associated with your cells, this is where you have a cell mediated response where the immune system needs to work through and also attack some cells of your body. That’s the differences between those two, and I promise we are going to stay very superficial on some of this.

What is an Antigen?

When we have a virus or a bacteria or something that is introduced into the body, it is known as an antigen. An antigen is a molecule which introduces a specific immune response, and you are going to be familiar with some of these antigens.

You can talk about measles as a specific kind of antigen. There are different types of measles and so you have different types of antigens or molecules associated with that, such as the flu–where different types of antigens are formed. The antigen is another way to say that it is a structurally complex protein. It’s nothing more than a virus that has been introduced through a bacteria that has been introduced into your body, and your body must recognize that as a foreign material and it has to be readily accessible for your immune system to be able to categorize or mount some type of a response in association with it.

Once you have an antigen that’s been introduced into your body, a foreign substance (whether that’s the flu virus, the measles virus, or a bacteria, streptococcal pneumonia–whatever it is–it will form an antigen or a marker that says, “You’ve seen me before.”

Body Response to Antigens

Our body responds to that antigen with an antibody, and an antibody is a glycoprotein product and responds to that antigen, which we have already identified as the virus or the bacteria or whatever it may be in your body. That becomes important because it has the ability to bind to that antigen, and when it binds to that antigen (whether it’s a humoral response or whether it’s a cell mediated response), it will negate that antigen. It binds it up so it has no effect in your body, and this is why you need your immune system to function.

We talk about antigens and antibodies, and the antibodies themselves are identified as immuno-globulins and there are five different kinds: IG-A, IG-D, IG-G, IG-E, IG-M–it doesn’t matter. Everyone of them do something just a little bit different. Where you are in your immune response will determine which one of those is engaged–it doesn’t make any differ-ence. Know that your body has antibodies in response to antigens that have been formulated within your body as you have exposure to them.

You need this information and I am building this for a reason. There are two basic types of cells in your body that we will talk about. One is a B-cell and a B-cell makes antibodies which attach and neutralize viruses floating in the bloodstream. Then we have another type of cell called the T-cells, and in the T-cells we have either a helper cell or a killer cell.

The helper cells help to organize the immune response, where the killer cells can destroy cells that have been affected by a virus or a bacteria or some other type of antigen, so with them we are talking about cell-mediated immunity. Microorganisms and viruses contain many specific molecules and they are seen as foreign to the body. These different molecular shapes are called antigens (that we just learned about) or epitopes where the B-cells and the T-cells are activated by recognizing the specific antigen.

When they recognize a specific antigen they will only respond to that antigen if they have been created in response to it previously, or if they are in the process of creating an antibody to respond to it, so we have that functioning through the action of those two things.

Cell Cloning for Greater Immune Response

Once a T-cell or a B-cell has been activated they can have the ability to make a clone of themselves. One cell or one antibody cannot function or fight against every antigen that you will receive, even if it is the same strain. You will need it to make clones, so it begins to divide and you supply a greater and a greater immune response. Another important thing that we have happen is that other cloned B or T-cells remain in your body as memory cells. That becomes really important, too.

Maybe you remember from highschool biology when they talked about immunity that’s passed from the mother to the baby. That immunity that’s passed from the mother to the baby is the exact process that we are talking about. The mother already has specific antibodies in association with antigens or viruses or bacteria that she previously has been exposed to.

Here’s why all of this becomes really important to you. If the body is re-invaded by an antigen or a virus or a bacteria at some point in the future (which it already has recognition for) then your immune response is going to be faster, it’s going to be greater, and your body will be able to sufficiently deal with that problem.

How are we Exposed?

So the question here becomes, “How are we exposed to different immunological compromises within our bodies?” We can talk about diet; we can talk about nutrition. When you start looking at those things it’s important to understand that you have to create an immune response.

Here is where we come to fruition with this. Let me encapsulate this or give you a precursor to this. My purpose is not to stand up here in any way to bash medicine. There has been none of that at this conference, and I appreciate that. I want you to understand the process of something that’s about to hit us and it is called “flu season.” How many of you, who either in the past or present know somebody who’s going to line up and get a flu shot? Let me explain to you the bio-mechanics of why is it you would not want to do that, and why it isn’t necessary.

Flu Epidemic Tactics

First off, if you have seen the USA Today in the last couple of days, what have you noticed? It tells of the shortage of the flu shots again. “Flu is going to be worse than ever.” It’s going to start to build. It’s going to be just like it was last year. This comes from last year and I put it in here for a reason. This talks a little bit about Thimerosal and I am not going to go into detail with that, but understand the Thimerosal is still in those vaccines. It’s a process of how that vaccine has been formulated that allows them to call it Thimerosal-free. In fact, I had a document that was distributed to all doctors that showed and demonstrated how they could call it Thimerosal-free. I gave it to a trusted assistant by the name of Shane Osmond (if he’s anywhere in the room) and he promptly lost it, and so I don’t have that any longer! But it talked about how we can call something Thimerosal-free with it still containing huge amounts of Thimerosal. Thimerosal is mercury, and when you think about mercury, there is a link to autism, there’s a link to Alzheimer’s there’s a link to many, many different cognitive diseases and functioning loss within the brain–and it gets worse and worse as time goes on. So understand and know that your vaccines are not Thimerosal-free, even when they say that they are.

Here is something I want to show you, and it is very similar to the headlines that we have had in USA Today and in the world news over the last few days: “Flu rages from coast to coast.” We haven’t seen that specifically, but though the vaccine is considered the best protection, there is a chance that there will be more vaccine failures this year than normal. About two-thirds of the flu cases were caused by the F-Eugene Strain (which doesn’t exactly match the strain used in this year’s vaccine). It is interesting to know

that this year you are getting the exact same one as last year’s!

Build Immunity without Flu Vaccines

So now, knowing a little bit about immunity, let’s set the stage for this. Let me tell you two things: One, you would never want to go get a flu vaccine. How many of you had the flu when you were a kid? Almost every single person in this room. How many of you died? (You already know the answer to that!) None of you did! I never had any cause or concern about dying from the flu when I was a young man. I have not had that cause or concern for my children–they have never had a flu shot. I’ve never had one, my wife has never had one. I’m not a proponent of this. Let me tell you some of the reasons why: You can build your immunity and you can strengthen your system without having to put chemicals and toxins into your body, which by design will do nothing but deteriorate that system from you.

Infant Flu Vaccinations and Autism

The other reason is, think about what you just learned about immunity. I told you that if you intro-duce antibodies–and let me show you how vaccines work. This is the premise of how they work (which is

new from the Center of Disease Control) and guess what the latest age group is for having vaccines for the flu shot? It’s recommended that children six to 23 months of age should be vaccinated annually against influenza. Do you have any idea why that is so dangerous? Autism. There has been over a 300% increase–and guess in which age group? Six years of age and under! You are looking at some of the reasons why this is so scarey. Let me tell you how the immune system really works and why it is you don’t necessarily want to have the flu vaccine. I shared with you how we build an immune response in the body. We are exposed to an antigen or a virus or a bacteria or some other type of epidemiological action or agent. When we are exposed to that, your body reacts either through humoral immunity or cell-mediated immunity to build an antibody. That antibody’s sole response is for destruction and recognition if I am ever exposed to it again.

Flu Vaccine Not Necessary

If you had the flu vaccine last year, why in the world would you want to take it again this year? Based on the science of how a vaccine works, you’ve already got immunity to it. You don’t need to go damage yourself a second time.

I was asked to go do a lecture last year and I went to the facility and there was a whole group of people and they were literally lined down the hallway and out the door and down the sidewalk to get a flu vaccine. I walked in and the gal came up and they were very excited to have us there, and I said, “You don’t want me to lecture.” They said, “Yes, we really do.” and I said, “No, you really don’t because I am going to get rid of all these people in this line..” and I would not lecture. I think it’s unfortunate that we get into that position.

So understand that there are ways that you can protect yourself. Flu vaccine is not necessary, especially if you had it last year. Don’t waste your time getting it again this year–you are getting the exact same thing.

Here’s the other thing. We are trying to make a prediction as to what we might see, what antigens we might possibly see that we would need to create a flu vaccine for. It’s a guessing game, and you saw how it was reported last year, and it’s going to be reported the same way again this year. We anticipate that the flu will be somewhat similar to last year, so we are not changing the vaccine. And by the way, there is not enough, so create the pandemonium and let’s all go get one as quickly as we can. That’s all I am going to say about that.

Staph aureus – Cause of Many Conditions

Staph aureus. I want to share this with you because Staph aureus is a bacteria that lies harmlessly in your body for the most part and it can be somewhat detrimental to you for a lot of different reasons. Maybe 15 to 40% of us have Staph aureus currently on our bodies. We find it sometimes on the surface of the skin; we find it in the mucosal linings of the mouth; we can find it in the mucosal linings of the nose, of the nasium. We have Staph aureus and it is an opportunistic bacteria and when it becomes activated into the body it can create a lot of different circumstances. Some of the things it can cause is foliculitis, boils, scaled skin syndrome, toxic shock syndrome, impetigo, cellulitis–and you are familiar with all of those names.

Scalded Skin Syndrome

Let’s talk about scalded skin syndrome first. This is an example of it. It generally hits young children, unfortunately, and when you look at the surface of your skin, the cells of your skin have to bind together. They do that with something known as a dermisol (it’s called epidermalitic A and B) infected processes associated with this, they attack that dermisol, so it really literally begins to happen. Your skin cells fall apart; they have no way to stay stuck together. It’s called scalded syndrome because it looks just as if you had been scalded or burned. It is extremely painful. This is a detrimental side effect of Staph aureus.

Toxic Shock Syndrome

Another thing that we have is called toxic shock syndrome. Most of you are probably familiar with it. It really became pronounced in the late 70’s or early 80’s. We generally see it with women in association with their menstrual cycle, and we get that from bacteria. It’s part of the way the tampons used to be produced, but it would aggravate (and I have already told you the Staph aureus is an opportunistic bacteria) and it would aggravate that environment and then you would then have an active infection.

It’s not the only type of toxic shock syndrome there is. Men, you can receive it too. It’s called staph toxic shock syndrome, and you can receive that as well. Again, it’s an opportunistic environment that it seeks after with people who have compromise in their immune response, and when you have compromise in your immune response it doesn’t really matter what the causative agent is. When you have compromise, you are setting the stage for failure, and we have learned that failure in this day and age comes in many different varieties.

Support the Immune System

We see it in the form of cancer, we see it in the form of Lou Gehrig’s Disease; we see it in the form of osteoarthritis; we see it in the form of rheumatoid arthritis, irritable bowel syndrome–and the list goes on and on–and it’s a dysfunction of the immune system. By now, most of you know and understand that in order to support your immune system you look at the bowel, you look at the liver, you look at the endocrine system, you look at the pancreas for stimulating immunity. There are lots of different ways that we can do that.

Pseudomonas Aeruginosa..Harmless?

Another one I want to tell you about is pseudo-monas aeruginosa, which is another bacteria that lies fairly dormant within your system, and as it lies dormant within your system it’s generally considered to be harmless, but yet, when we have immune compromise we set the stage to become infected with this in a big way. It creates a lot of different things in that environment–endocarditis, respiratory infections, bacteremia, septicemia (which is blood poisoning), central nervous infections, ear infections, eye infections, bone infections, urinary tract infections, upper GI and lower GI infections, and dermatitis. One of the most devastating things associated with this is a case with cystic fibrosis patients. That is because they receive respiratory tract infections, and many times this harmless, simple bacteria becomes their ultimate demise because we have compromised our immune system to the point that we no longer can combat it.

What About Antibiotic Resistance?

Antibiotic resistance–this is something that’s new right now in medicine. It comes in one of two different ways: Intrinsic resistance in which we have resistance built into the cell wall. You’ve learned that the cell wall is a lock and key system–it doesn’t matter if you are transporting hormones or you learned a little bit about some enzymes and things yesterday for skin repair. It doesn’t matter if they are being transported or if it’s viruses or illnesses that are being transported, it has to pass through a cell wall at some point. And passing through that cell wall we can have resistance because the viruses themselves or the bacterias themselves are impermeable in their cell wall. So we gain resistance because nothing will have effect upon it.

The other way that we have it is acquired resist-ance, and this comes as they are able to mutate and change to meet the resistance or the dynamics of the different drugs and medicines that would be given in association with that.

Here’s an interesting quote from Robert Dunn, Head of the University of Chicago Children’s Hospital. “The antibiotic era is really only 60 years old, but as we get more and more resistance going on, it acts more and more like the pre-antibiotic era.”

How many of you have heard of this? How many of you have heard of the super bugs. An alarming number of human pathogens have acquired genes to combat all the presently used antibiotics except Vancomyecin. This must have been written a few years ago because Vancomyecin (which is our last antibiotic on the horizon) now has a lot of resistance associated with it. There are several different forms of resistance associated with Vancomyecin, so let me explain them to you quickly.

Forms of Antibiotic Resistance

The first one is called “MRSA” (Methacillin Resistant Staph Aureus, Methacillin denotes a type of antibiotic. GISA (Glycopeptide Intermediate Staph Aureus). These are the super bugs. VRSA (Van-comyecin Resistant Staph Aureus). VISA (Van-comyecin Intermediate Staph Aureus) and the last one is VRE (which is Vancomyecin Resistant Enter-alcocci). The last one is a little different than Staph Aureus. How many of you were told when you were little, “Be sure and wash your hands after you go to the bathroom”? This is the reason why. This comes most specifically from feces, both from humans and from animals, so Vancomyecin Resistant Enteralcocci,

MRSA (or Methacillin Resistant Staph Aureus) is a fancy way to say–and we can put all of those into a category that any Staphylococcus Aureus bacteria or infection that has become resistant to one or more conventional antibiotics is classified as a Methacillin Resistant Staphylococcus Aureus. In other words, that bacteria is resistant to one or more of the antibiotics that are currently available.

How Resistance is Classified

We classify that resistance in a few different ways. Typically, we would introduce an antibiotic and we would like to see between .5 and .2 micrograms would have to stop or eliminate that virus or bacteria. We have an intermediate strain (remember I told you there is resistant-intermediate and then resistant alto-gether). The intermediate strain is from .8 to .16 micrograms and the resistant (meaning those we can’t do anything about) have a greater capacity to consume more than 32 micrograms. When we go back to the super bugs, the VISA or Vancomyecin Intermediate–this is the one we have from .8 to .14. The Vancomyecin Resistant (this is the one that requires greater than a 32, and the Glycopeptide Intermediate Staph Aureus is a little different one and is called a Glycopepitide because it’s not only resistant to Vancomyecin, but it’s also resistant to Tyoplanin which is another form of antibiotic.

What Does All of this Mean?

The antibiotic resistant genes from Vancomyecin Resistant Enteralcocci have transferred now to Staph Aureus, and that is what this article was talking about. So what does all of this mean? I have thrown all of this out there for you–what does it mean?

It means that you have the power in your hands to stand against whatever is there. There are a couple of clear choices that have to be made in this environment we now live in. One is understanding that there are no new antibiotics on the horizon. They cost millions and millions of dollars to develop a new drug, and we are talking about developing a drug that has little turnover. If I had the option of developing Lipator (which you have to take every day of your life) or developing an antibiotic which I might give to you occas-ionally–guess which I am going to develop? Lipator! And so there is no new antibiotic on the horizon–or is there! Yes, there is! Absolutely there is!

A New Line of Defense

Yesterday when we had Nicole Stevens here lecturing at one point I stood up and I started clapping during her lecture–and I noticed that not very many of you did–and I wondered why that was. She was sharing with you something that was so incredibly powerful and so magnificent. Let me clarify some-thing–when you heard her talking about drugs, when you heard Dr. Jaime Matta talking about drugs and developing drugs to resist these things–you understand that’s a scientific mind talking. They are not talking about drugs in a chemical sense. They are talking about a new line of drugs; they are talking about a new line of defense, and guess what it’s called? Young Living Essential Oils!

The Story of Thieves

Many of you are probably familiar with this story. It comes out of two or three major plagues associated with it in long history.

The first one was in 1314 and the story goes that there were some thieves who, in the middle of this big plague (the Black Plague, as it was called) had developed immunity to the plague. They were out and they were literally robbing everybody–those that were dying or who had recently died (which nobody else would even be willing to go around). They developed immunity. The king of the era, in response to wanting to protect himself and his family, had the thieves not only arrested, but brought to him so that he could ask them what it was that they were doing. He offered to them that if they would share their information, he would give them a lighter sentence. I found it interesting that the lighter sentence was they got to be hanged. I would hate to think what it was before! So they got a lighter sentence and they got to be hanged.

Clove has a Great History

Some of you know this now–maybe you have seen it or read about it–called “Poor Thieves Vinegar” and it comes out of Marseilles, France. There are always different things associated with it, but one of the essential ingredients in that happens to be an oil by the name of Clove, and it has tremendous antimicrobial, antibacterial or viral effects within the body.

So Gary Young has created the opportunity to have this blend called Thieves, and Thieves has the constituents of Clove, Lemon, Cinnamon, Eucalyptus Radiata and Rosemary, almost every one of which has extremely antiseptic, antiviral or anti-bacterial properties associated with them. Two in particular–

Clove and Cinnamon–are extremely high in something known as eugenol, which becomes very effective in that process.

Looking at some of the things that Clove essential oil can do, brings a millennial-long history. It was documented to freshen the breath in the 3rd century. Subjects awaiting audiences with Chinese emperors were required to chew cloves to sweeten the breath. We have a history of cloves in a New England physician, Thomas Palmer, who wrote in 1696, “Oil of Cloves for purification of bones in old and new ulcers. It heals wounds, disease, wind-digested cold humors and causes a sweet breath.”

Dental Practices with Clove

We have eugenol. Thymol and carvicol have been used in dentistry since the 19th century, and in 1945 the essential oils of Clove, Cinnamon, and Eucalyptus were listed in the Dental Medica. Look at all the pathogens that Clove has (and I know you can’t read all of them) anti or resistant activity against. The list is huge and it’s going to continue to grow as we do more and more research and we understand more. Let’s look at the effects of eugenol in human simplex one and two (Herpes). We found that it significantly can delay the onset of Herpes lesions when we use eugenol from Clove oil.

Dangers of Mold

Toxic molds. How many of you have heard of things like toxic building syndrome, or sick building syndrome? Toxic molds. Molds are particularly devastating and here’s one, aspergillus parasitica. It

is particularly devastating because it has a micro-toxin known as aphroflaxin B-1, and it’s been identified as being the most toxic, the most carcinogenic, the most hepatrophic, potentially mutant genic of all the molds. This is common that we find these types of things in our home.

Listeria. This is a fancy way to talk about food poisoning. It doesn’t kill a lot of people every year, but a lot of people get sick from it and a lot of people get sick from it because there is really no defense against it. There really is, however. Clove versus listeria. Researchers at Margaret University College in Edinburgh in the United Kingdom found that Clove and Thyme essential oils markedly reduced bacteria and extra cellular proteins.

Thieves Testing Proves Highly Effective

Modern testing of Thieves. We did an experiment back in the late 90’s in which we took three different bacterias. You already know which ones they are, they are the Staph aureus, the Pseudomonas arginosa, and we did another one called the Micro caucus lutius. How many of you know that last one? It’s what makes your underarms stink! So now you know if you have stinky underarms you can put some Clove on there if your are brave enough! You don’t even have to do that.

We took these in a series of three different experiments that took 12 petri dishes and we did a controlled group within those petri dishes. We fumigated or sterilized a hood in which they would be placed, and we grew a bacterium of those three different things for a period of 48 hours–with the exception of the Micro caucus lutius, which we grew for 72 hours because we couldn’t count the colonies until it had gone ahead and grown more.

After we did that, then we introduced a diffusion into the hood where they were and we found that the diffusion of Thieves oils reduced significantly the amount of the bacteria that was associated with the individual petri dishes. What we are saying is we are looking at things like Pseudomonas arginosa; we are looking at things like Staph aureus (which we’ve always said are benign harmless-type bacteria) which are now becoming lethal.

I spoke with a lady here at this Convention who has an ulceration on her leg and they can’t figure out what it is that is eating her flesh away. These are the kind of things that we talk about when we start talking about super bugs–and so, where does the future go? What is it that we do?

The other really interesting thing we found was that the amount of time it was diffused was also significant. When we diffused on the bottom scale we have the amount of time it was diffused from 0 to 12 minutes. And we found that from three to six minutes we had a significant reduction. From six minutes on in that environment we had a somewhat limited reduction, although you can see that eventually when we got all the way to 12 minutes, we had almost zero detectable minutes left. That is amazing!

Utilize Thieves for Home Protection

And so, where does it go? And what do you do? How do you protect yourself against the flu season, how do you protect yourself against some of these things? Let me run through some things very quickly with you so that you can understand how you can protect yourself, how you don’t have to go and get a flu shot, how do protect your home environment?

One of the questions I face all the time is, “Dr. Hill, okay–I am leaving the Clinic–now what? Now what do I do?” Let me give you some of the “now whats.” Let me tell you how to protect your homes.

Difuse, Difuse, Difuse…

The first thing you should do (and I am going to show you several different things, but understand that it’s not all inclusive). A lot of these have come right from Gary and from things I have heard him say as he has lectured on protecting your home and protecting your environment. So let me share with you some of those. The first thing I would like you to do is in your homes–just as we diffuse in the lab–you need to diffuse, and there are lots of different ways you can do that. In my home, my young son who is here with me, (he is everything to me) and he’s sick quite a bit of the time until recently when we started to diffuse oils in our home.

I have been diffusing oils in my hotel room every day, so you are going to diffuse for a minimum of 15 minutes a day in your homes. If you have a child who is sick or if you have toxic mold in your home, don’t just diffuse in your room. Go down to your air conditioning system or your heating system.

We sell some wonderful packs of these antimicro-bial oils, and you can put them right in your heating or your air conditioning system and diffuse your whole house at the same time, or invest in multiple diffusers so that you can go ahead and do that in individual rooms in your home. Diffuse for no more than 15 minutes–it’s just not necessary to do it any longer, but maybe do it two or three times throughout the day.

I have chosen some oils that all have very high antimicrobial (which means antiviral and antibacterial) properties–and when we are coming into the winter season and you’re looking at sickness, you are talking about bacteria and even worse–viral infections. So here are the things you would want to diffuse.

Which Oils to Diffuse

Diffuse Thieves. You’ve learned about some of the properties, why it’s so valuable, why it’s so important. Diffuse Purification, diffuse Exodus 2, diffuse Mountain Savory, diffuse Lemon. These are all anti-viral, antibacterial and antimicrobial. Diffuse Frank-incense. Gary talked so wonderfully about that yesterday, sharing with you its wonderful and unique properties, including antimicrobial properties. He shared with you how in ancient times as children were birthed, the protection that came to them–not just spiritually, but physically–from use of Frankincense oil. So diffuse Frankincense in your home.

Build Your Immune System

Another thing you can do is perform a regime of building your immune systems, so let me go through some of those with you very quickly. The first thing I would like you to do is take Detoxzyme. We have a lot of different enzymes associated with Young Living. We have Detoxzyme, we have Carbozyme, we have Lipozyme, we have Essential-zyme and we have enzymes for kids.I want you to take Detoxzyme for specific reasons. First off, we don’t adequately digest in our system, and it aids in digestion of starches, sugars, protein, and fats. It’s effective against parasites; it helps to control and monitor the pH of the body. It also contains an enzyme called phytase, and phytase is important to you because as you consume vegetables, as you consume fruits (more specifically vegetables), as you consume nuts–you need to be able to unlock the nutrient content that’s in it. We are looking at potassium and some of the other mineral content associated with those. And phytase is extremely important to you because it can unlock up to 90% of those and make them bioavailable to you. So we put phytase in Detoxzyme.

Then we have the essential oils of Cumin, Anise, and Fennel. Fennel is extremely soothing to the pancreas. Why do we you want your pancreas to be supported? Because the pancreas relates to immunity in your body, so you want to take Fennel. When we look at the other essential oil, Anise–we find it is important because of its immune response. When we look specifically at Cumin, we find it is important because it has a parasitic response, an antiviral response, ana an antibacterial response. We have all of those wonderful products associated with Detoxzyme, so take it every single day.

ImmuPro and ImmuPower

Be sure that you take an ImmuPro. There is a difference ImmuPro and ImmuPower. They are both immune building and immune responsive. Immu-Power is different from ImmuPro in that the Immu-Pro has Wolfberry and beta glucans, and beta glucans are important because they stimulate your immune system. We talked a little bit about some of the cells that are associated with our immune system–the B-cells, the T-cells, the killer cells–beta glucans help in that process. So use both ImmuPro and ImmuPower.

The Acid Cycle

Most of you know this by now, but acid creates mucous, mucous creates inflammation, and inflamma-tion creates disease and ill health in your body. It is fascinating that not too long ago the FDA made a huge announcement: Inflammation is the cause of nearly all disease. We already knew that. Gary has been talking about it for years, and so you’ve got to control the acid in your body.

One of the most effective ways to do that is to take a teaspoon of Alkalime every single night before you go to bed and it will set the pH. At night when you rest you build more acid in your body than any other time during the day in any other activity that you are doing, so you want to take it at night. The other thing that you should be doing (which isn’t on this list) is that when you get up in the morning first thing, go ahead and take a whole fresh organic lemon, squeeze it into an 8-ounce glass of water and drink it first thing in the morning. It will help to reset the pH for the rest of the day. Controlling of the acid in your body is perhaps one of the single most important processes you can go through.

When you control the acid in your body, you are controlling the colonization or the proliferation of things like viruses and bacteria. When you control the acid in your body you are building immune response. When you control the acid in your body you are building an anti-inflammatory response.

Other Immune Builders

There are several other immune builders that you should look at–and you can do any combination of these–Exodus 2, Berry Young Juice. There is not a person in this room who at this point should not be drinking Berry Young Juice. Everyone of you should be doing that every single day. By the way, I have got to tell you something funny about someone who came to me and said, “You know, the Berry Young Juice just doesn’t build any energy for me..” so she went back to her room last night and drank a half a bottle! I guess she has been bouncing off the walls ever since, so maybe it will help that way!

Thieves is another one we want to talk about. You’ve learned some of the great effects of Thieves and what it can do for you.

Longevity–let’s talk about Longevity. All of these, by the way, are antimicrobial, antiviral, antibacterial, but when you start talking about Longevity there are some essential oils that we want to talk about. There are several–Clove, Thyme, and Orange. Frankincense is also associated with that. In each of those condi-tions associated with the Longevity they have a specific function. Frankincense is not just antimicro-bial, but is wonderful for DNA repair and support of the immune system. Orange–you learned a little bit about its high content of limonene. It’s not just anti-viral, it’s anti-carcinogenic.

We also talked about Ultra Young and Ultra Young+. Ultra Young+ is the exact same thing as Ultra Young, only it has something known as DHEA, and this is important to you because it’s a precursor for hormone structure in your body. Ultra Young has something which is also found in Ultra Young+ called L-dopa, and this is important to you in building immune response and immune function within your body.

Where Does This Take Us?

The final question that I would pose to you is, where does all this really go? Where does it lead us, where does it take us? There are some exciting things on the horizon with Young Living. I have been talking to Sue Chao and she always tells me the same thing, “That’s impossible, Dr. Hill!”

But I am going to be very bold at this point. There are some things on the horizon, and maybe some of you have heard of something called nano bacteriam sanguinium. This is a particularly devastating thing, there is a lot of controversy that surrounds it that associate it with many diseases and heart disease, in particular. I think you are going to find that although they are saying that there is nothing effective against it except for extremely high doses of Amoxicillin, I think what you are going to find is that Young Living Essential Oils have extreme toxicity against it, and can destroy it. I think you are going to find that the super bugs we talked about can be effectively treated with Young Living Essential Oils, that the oils are going to be proved to be the salvation to protecting us against some of those super bugs.

Young Living will Blaze the Way

It’s only going to get worse as we continue to stay in the process that we are in, and Young Living will blaze the way–and Sue Chao will be a big part of that.

I am extremely appreciative of all the scientists who have been here to present to you the types of things that we’re talking about. It should excite you to know that Young Living has made a commitment, not just to purity and efficacy of product, but proving those products and demonstrating that they do have value and that they do have efficacy.

Let me share something in closing–and I’ve heard a little bit about it. I loved Gary, he just got a little passionate about it and John did too. It’s not a big investment when you start thinking about those things. Let me close with this–somebody brought this to me yesterday. This is a chemotherapy bill for one day–

nearly $10,000 was spent, and my heart goes out to that person because there is no better place than Young Living to truly help her. Thank you.
