Progesterone and Progessence Plus – Dan Purser M.D. and Researcher.

PROGESSENCE PLUS

Notes taken by Nandini at 2010 Young Living Convention to the best of my ability not to make errors, though they might be occuring here, including spelling errors

……………………………………………………………….

“Progesterone is really good for women.”
Progessence Plus is even better, because  it contains micro-amounts so better absorbed. His work: trauma, preventive medicine, plastic surgery.
The Pituitary is very fragile.  It has a fragile vasculature.  Its main artery doesn’t even come through it but down along a bone and is often broken.  It can’t be repaired.

One of the main problems in women is the pituitary.  Childbirth is a common danger of the pituitary.  Whiplash is also a big problem: it shifts the brain and tears the stalk of the pituitary.  Pneumonia and bad diarrhea and dehydration can also change the pituitary.

FSH comes out of the front of the pituitary.  Without a good functioning pituitary one can have low progesterone.

LOW PROGESTERONE CAUSES:
PMS
headaches, especially bad migraine headaches
endometriosis
hot flashes
day and night sweats
TMJ  (lack of progesterone)
insomnia
dehydration leading to neuropathy
lack of libido
hair loss
increases acne

Most physicians believe these symptoms are from low estradiol (estrogen)
Most are wrong.
98% of the above conditions are caused by low progesterone.
Estrogen dominance means not enough progesterone to balance.

SEVEN MENOPAUSAL DWARFS:
sweaty
sleepy
bloaty
forgetful
itchy
witchy
bitchy (psych. probs)

WHAT BENEFITS DOES PROGESTERONE GIVE TO WOMEN?
cools arteries
prevents 98% of hot flashes
prevents 98% of day or night sweats
prevents 98% of PMS
prevents 98% of migraine headaches in females only
improves post-partum depression
aids in weight loss
decreases acne
mood elevation  (best time to take is at night)j
helps 98% of TMJ inflammation
reduces breast cancer risk
aids in sleep at night
heals nerves: enables nerve remyelination
reduces endometriosis
improves bone density
improves libido
makes breasts light and fluffy (husbands’ favorite)

P4 or the human biological equivalent of progesterone aids in weight loss.
P4 as used previously does not; it has been a synthetic progesterone which even the MDs say is synthetic.

Synthetic progesterone, P4, was a risk of breast cancer.

NATURAL P4 IS GOOD.

The molecules here (Progessence Plus) are identical to the human progesterone you make yourself.  They are not made of an animal product.

In this case it’s been carefully and naturally made from wild yams.  Through a natural company process it becomes actually progesterone.  IT IS BIOLOGICALLY IDENTICAL.  Progessece Plus is a fully formed progesterone, NOT A YAM PRECURSER.  Pure progesterone is the end product.  It is super-micronized for better absorption.  Physicians are his (Dr. Purser’s) main patients, as there is a lot of bad progesterone out there.

He suggests checking your blood levels before and after using Progessence Plus.  [We could have our blood tested for progesterone in a room at the Convention set up with 6 doctors and nurses to take our blood and send us the lab results.  The "after" will have to be done on our own]
He feels saliva tests are great for sizzle but not for accuracy: very erratic.  Blood is the gold standard.
Less than 1.0 is a bad serum level.  Very bad.
Normal is greater than 2.0.

P4 progesterone prevents menstrual migraine headaches in women.  This has been widely known since 1971.
P4 helps the re-myelination of nerves, TMJ, PMS, endometriosis.

There can not only be a “lack of” but also “progesterone resistance”.

In one example after 1ml was applied to neck and forearms:
after 30 minutes 0.27
after 60 minutes 0.53
after 120 minutes 4   This was a 1900% increase
This will be different for everyone.

COMPONENTS:
Frankincense sacra was the first and most important oil added
Bergamont: helps skin penetration
Copaiba: helps with healing, reduces inflammation
Rosewood: 70% of rosewood is linalol,
one of the easiest and most penetrating
substances known to man.  This rosewood info taken from
Marc Schreuder’s talk (head of YL Product Developement)
Cedarwood
In a base of Vitamin E (this is a natural E, unlike most E’s)

[Note from Nandini:  At this time the ingredients are not listed on the label.  There is also a “Warning: this product contains a chemical known to the state of California to cause cancer” on the label.  Naturally I inquired about this and was told that California  requires all progesterone, natural or chemical, to be labeled in this way, as it considers progesterone of all types to be dangerous to health. YL is complying here with California law, and it is my understanding that Young Living is hoping to have this removed from our label and then produce a newer more complete label.]

(Hi Nandini,Was reading your notes on Dr. Dan Purser’s work and thought you might like to re-read your comments on California law.
Below is what I wrote as what I read regarding the California Act.

Naturally I inquired about this and was told that California requires all progesterone, natural or chemical, to be labeled in this way. This comes from research regarding NOT natural progesterone which has been shown to be a carcinogenic. California law does not distinguish between the real and the not natural. YL is complying here with California law, and it is my understanding that Young Living is hoping to have this removed from our label and then produce a newer more complete label.
Here is the actual summation of the act:
Why is Natural Progesterone listed on Proposition 65?
The OEHHA reviewed a series of animal studies that used progestins (synthetic progesterone) and natural progesterone (bio-identical progesterone). The greater percentage of the studies were with progestins and natural progesterone combined with synthetic estrogens. The administered doses of natural progesterone were up to 1000 times that found in natural progesterone creams and were either injected, oral or suppository. Just a few of the studies used natural progesterone exclusively and not one of the studies used a natural progesterone cream. Based on this review, the State of California made the decision to add natural progesterone (bio-identical) to proposition 65. California is the only state that has made this decision and no other State supports proposition 65. In the past, many decisions like this have been reversed and the item was removed from proposition 65 in what California refers to as being “Delisted”.

What does this mean for Natural Progesterone Cream in California?
All the experts on natural progesterone creams soundly disagree with the decision by California,

From Nancy Weber)

APPLICATION:
Here is another test, using ONLY 1 DROP of Progessence Plus.
Put it on the carotid artery at neck, for faster absorption. One
drop is 1/30 of a ml.
Levels: 0 before
0.69  30 minutes later
2.31  1 hour later
2       2 hours later
0.60   3 hours later

Essential oils do not remain in the body so don’t clog up the liver, arteries etc.

Although the bottle label says not more than twice a day, Dr.Purser says one can apply it anytime one has symptoms, and referred to a patient who had wonderful results applying it 3 times a day.  He suggests putting it on the temples any time one has a migraine.  Suggests putting it on neck and possibly also on the forearms, both of which are quick-absorption areas.

Don’t press when applying on the carotid (neck).
Don’t press when applying on the temples.

Cycling (stopping once a month etc.) not necessary; use whenever you need it.

It is safe for young girls; won’t suppress their own progesterone.  He has 10  children: lots of young girls running about.  It elevates their mood.

Don’t use directly on men: lowers their libido.

Thank you very much for your wonderful notes about this brand new product! I joined the YLconvention from Japan but because I’m not good at english, I missed many of important informations.
If you don’t mind, I’d like to ask you questions here…

1.On the front side of product information page of Progessence Plus there is a description about the usage of the product saying “Begin using one day after menstrual cycle end…..Discontinue use for 7 days then repeat.”
when I red this I felt confused because “Cycling is not nessesary” was what the doctor said at the lecture as you kindly wrote down.
Is continuous using throughout the month not recommendable?

2.My sister is suffering from sever mensturual cramps so that she can’t stop taking medically prescribed pills to relief that pain.
Although I can read on the product info that one should not use Progessence Plus in conjunstion with contraceptives containing progesterone, is there any way to receive benefits of this helpfull product for the women like my sister?

If you have any informations or any advices,
I’m really appreciate for your taking time sharing those.

    Please forgive my poor english.

    In reply to Yoko Shito
Jennifer Bhala- Somehow this person has very unfortunately gotten the old product, “Progessence”, which is a progesterone pre-curser, and in a creme form. Our new product is called “Progessence Plus”, code number 4540, and is in an oil form in a clear bottle and has none of the restrictions of other types of progesterone products, including Young Living’s. The instructions are exactly as i wrote in my notes from Dr. Purser’s lecture, and subsequent references as well. If she bought the Progessence at the Convention perhaps she or her upline can get an exchange; it is really too bad she had this confusion and (in my opinion) shouldn’t be penalized for a language confusion! Perhaps the regional director for Japan can help her; he was there at the Convention with the about 45 Japanese distributors who were there! Yay for them!!

    Love,

    Nandini

  7. Tamara - July 29, 2010

I was wondering if it is okay to use the progessence plus oil while i am on the Mirena IUD?

  8. JenniferBhala - August 2, 2010

    Hi Tamara

I am not a licensed medical professional and so cannot know how to answer your question. ‘Okay to use’ in what way? What type of effect are you concerned about?

The progessence plus balances the hormonal system. I don’t know how the IUD prevents pregnancy as I have never used one or investigated it’s use.

  9. Tamara - August 2, 2010

Well I know that the IUD releases a little bit of progesterone, so I didn’t know if using the oil while I have the IUD was okay or could cause an overdose of progesterone.

  10. JenniferBhala - August 2, 2010

    Hi Tamara,

I’m sorry but I am not the one to ask. The only thing I know is that big pharma products use synthetic substances that cause negative side effects and YL uses naturally occurring substances that do not interfere or have negative side effects. How they interact if you use both, is anybodies guess. Gary Young may know but I would not like to. I know premarin is called that because it is derived from pregnant mares urine and who knows what else. Progessence Plus is derived from wild yams and is in harmony with the body.

I had a fabulous conference call today with Dr. Dan Purser and Marc Schreuder, Young Living’s Product Development expert. It was about our new product, Progessence Plus, and why it’s so important to get women to start using this product. We discussed menopause, hot flashes, energy, and much more! The rebroadcast # of this call is: 7124320453 & the Access Code is: 1128742#.
    Thank you!

Hello, I’m very interested in the Progessence product; looked at the womentowomen.com site earlier, debating on which way to go. I believe I have hormonal issues, and want to get help. Are you familiar with their product, and if so,how does this one compare as to effectiveness? Does it also address other issues such as insulin resistance, and adrenal fatigue? Thanks

I have recently started using this oil and have just realized that I have not had a headache/migrane for over a month or more.

By attending the Theives Regional Meeting and talking/sharing with other YL’s I put 2&2 together and have been headache free for quite a while.

    Yippy.

    Thanks

PS. I use theives daily at my shop for spot removal on clothing/carpets, etc. and customers have seen me use it and I bottle it and sell it in spray bottles. They love the smell.

  18. Patty - September 26, 2010

I don’t know if this where I should ask this…I have used many Young Living oils and have NEVER seen this. There is a warning on the label of the Progessence Serum. What is that about?

    Thanks

  20. Linda Moran - October 10, 2010

I am a breast cancer survivor who recently stopped using hormone patches when Progessence Serum became available. After using it on the carotids,my neck became very red. I started putting it on my wrists & am experiencing a red rash there. I am still using it several times a day rotating the sites;however I am still “flashing” like crazy. What do you suggest? I’m desperate! Thank you.

  21. JenniferBhala - October 11, 2010

    Hi Linda

Interestingly enough I have developed a rash on my neck as well and it has also begun on my forehead. I know of another person who has also hints of a rash. I have had throat issues for many years and so I believe I am being cleansed. I have had a rash under my arms in the past also and after a few months I felt cleansed of something. The body has to eliminate toxins somehow and it is helpful to attitude that the body is doing its work. The oils are designed to pull toxins out of the body.

My theory for my rash, right or wrong I don’t know, is that the thyroid is in the neck area and it has something to do with the pituitary and pineal glands which are located in the forehead area and so both are being cleansed.
If you have had cancer, then the body will want to do more cleansing, so enjoy the fact that you are being freed of something you don’t want.

I have been spraying lavaderm and alternating with claraderm and using lavender oil and sometimes thieves oil on my rashy areas. At night I still use the Progessence Plus on the throat area.

Below is how you can contact Dr Dan Purser, the co-creator with Gary Young of this product. He will be happy to help you further. I am not licensed in the health care field. I just have this site to share my experiences and hopefully turn more people onto natural medicine that actually works, and is working for thousands if not millions of people already.
