(53) Chemical oven cleaner replacement |
53. tip of the weekPenny LeClair submitted the following tip: “I was cleaning my oven with chemicals; they were not getting my oven clean, so I thought I would try Thieves® Household Cleaner. I applied it straight from the bottle on the area that needed the most cleaning and left it for about five minutes. I went back to wipe it up, and it came up clean as a whistle. I could not believe it! I will no longer use chemicals to clean the oven. Thieves Household Cleaner does the trick!” (These tips come directly from distributors and are passed on to you. DeFever submitted the following tip: “I have very curly, frizzy hair, and, just on a whim, I used Sandalwood Facial Toner™ on my curls. I used to have to clean his ears out every other day. I haven’t had to clean them out since!” (These tips come directly from distributors and are passed on to you. After trying the strongest cleaning chemicals in my house, the markings didn’t budge. In a panic, I called our local hardware store to see if they had anything that would get permanent marker out, and they recommended a product that was around $14 a bottle. However, the worker said it is such a hazardous chemical that it would probably ruin the LCD TV screen and eat the finish off my desk. Because of its toxicity, I declined and went home. When I got home I remembered my 1 oz. bottles of Thieves Spray. It dissolved the permanent ink out of the desk and the LCD screen beautifully.* It looks like nothing ever happened! Now that is what I call POWERFUL!” 48.tip of the weekJanice Trachtman submitted the following tip: “Putting a drop of geranium essential oil on a shaving nick stops the flow of blood within seconds.” (These tips come directly from distributors and are passed on to you. It’s amazing!” (These tips come directly from distributors and are passed on to you. The company assumes no liability from any damage caused by use of this tip.) I used Thieves Household Cleaner undiluted on my hands, then slightly diluted it in water for the carpet. The tar came off quickly in both cases. My friends, who thought only paint thinner or gasoline would work, were very impressed. I told her that I use it on my feet to soften my heels. She tried it on her sore ankle, and her brother tried it on his aching lower back. She called shortly thereafter to order four more containers, as both her sore ankle and her brother’s back discomfort were quickly relieved. She said her brother had tried every pill and ointment on his back, but nothing had worked as well as the Animal Scents Ointment. This nutritional train wreck was quietly retired in January of 2005 when federal guidelines recommended eating some 13 servings of fruits and vegetables a day with at least three of the daily servings of grain to come from whole grains. Consumers were also warned to avoid trans-fats, which are created when vegetable oils become “partially hydrogenated.” The new USDA symbol turns out to be 12 pyramids that were unveiled April 19, 2005, with hopes that consumers can overcome obesity and ease the 400,000 deaths a year believed to be caused by poor diet and physical inactivity. 2. The USDA has an interactive website where people can find the recommendations that fit their lifestyle and age at www.MyPyramid.gov. The pyramids are individualized as nutritionists at the USDA recognize that “one size fits all” doesn’t work. Six categories of food (grains, vegetables, fruits, oils, milk, and meat and beans) are divided vertically rather than horizontally as the old pyramid depicted. The marvelous phytonutrients and protective antioxidants from fruit are found in abundance in Young Living’s Berry Young Juice. If you think you may fall short in eating those 13 servings of fruits and vegetables, a daily drink of just one ounce of this healthful juice can add beneficial nutrition to your diet. Notes 40. tip of the week:Janice Trachtman submitted the following tip: “Whenever I exercise too much and feel achy with stiff muscles, I find that applying a few drops of marjoram essential oil, followed by a few drops of lavender essential oil, eases stiffness and sensitivity extremely quickly-usually within a few hours. If I just leave my muscles to get better on their own, it can take several days to find relief, compared to just a few hours after using the essential oils.” (These tips come directly from distributors and are passed on to you. 1. Vikesland’s study was published in the online Science News of Environmental Science & Technology, April 6, 2005. Vikesland wrote: “This is the first work that we know of that suggests that consumer products, such as antimicrobial soap, can produce significant quantities of chloroform.” Virginia Tech’s press release noted that most of the consumer products that contain triclosan are eventually discharged down residential drains, and University of Minnesota researchers have found that photochemical reactions of triclosan could be producing dioxins in the presence of sunlight. 2. Young Living’s dental hygiene and personal care products never have and never will contain triclosan! Notes: 4. Press Release: Virginia Tech News, “Researcher: Being too clean could be hazardous to your health and environment,” April 15, 2004. 39.tip of the week:Catherine Wright submitted the following tip: “Recently I have been getting ingrown eye lashes (eye sties), so I decided to try putting lavender on my temples and on the bridge of my nose. I did this seven to nine times a day, and instead of the sty lasting two weeks like it normally lasts, it was fully gone in two and a half days. I have used this technique four times already and have received the same results each time. This last week, when I felt the start of a sty coming on, I put lavender on and it never formed!” (These tips come directly from distributors and are passed on to you. 1. Well, as Paul Harvey says, here’s the rest of the story! The study was designed to assess whether supplementation with antioxidant vitamins could reduce the incidence of secondary cancers in patients with head and neck cancer. Surprisingly, patients who received vitamin E supplementation experienced a higher rate of secondary cancer. Also, the rate of having a recurrence or second primary cancer was higher in the group that received vitamin E supplementation. 2. Here is the most important fact of the study: it was synthetic vitamin E! The patients were receiving alpha-tocopherol (400 IU/day). The New York Times article thankfully made mention of this fact by referring to “the synthetic version of vitamin E.” Rest assured that all Young Living supplements that include vitamin E use only the natural vitamin form! “I am a licensed massage practitioner. Last week I developed tendonitis in my left wrist and was not sure how I could get through several more massages. I decided to apply wintergreen and Aroma Siez to my swollen, hot, inflamed wrist. It was like magic-the discomfort was gone! By using the oils about every six hours, I was able to get through all of my massages.” (These tips come directly from distributors and are passed on to you. “For a couple of months, the water in my bathroom sink had been draining more slowly than usual. I can’t stand the smell of commercial drain removers, I have an aversion to pouring toxic chemicals into the water, and plumbers are expensive. I had read that enzymes are now being used as drain removers, so I emptied 8 capsules of Detoxzyme® into the water in my sink and slowly, but surely, the dirty water drained. A week later, my bathroom drain was still running well, so I filled the bathtub with a couple inches of water and added two more capsules of Detoxzyme, just for insurance.” (These tips come directly from distributors and are passed on to you. This morning, the results of my checkup amazed my dentist of over thirty years. I have long suffered from gingivitis, the pulling away of my gums from my teeth for most of my adult life. My dentist said his usual hope for clients is that the gum measurements remain stable and don’t pull away more. Rarely do they reattach and heal back to the teeth without surgery. Today, he measured and saw that my gums are actually healing and reattaching themselves back to the teeth naturally. All of the bleeding has stopped along with irritation and redness.” (These tips come directly from distributors and are passed on to you. Tip of the weekSue Pirtle submitted the following tip: “My husband walked with the Boy Scouts on a sixty-mile trek up a mountain carrying a fifty-pound pack on his back. When he returned, his big toe and second toe on one foot were blue and throbbing. He said he would need to go to the doctor in the morning because he could not bear to wear a shoe over his toes. I looked up bruising in my Essential Oils Desk Reference and decided to try some hyssop oil. Although my husband thought this was not going to be useful, he allowed me to put the oil on his toes in the evening and again at bedtime. He was amazed in the morning that the toes were pink, and they no longer hurt. He never had to go to the doctor.” (These tips come directly from distributors and are passed on to you. We found a beautiful outdoor area and sat down to enjoy our meal. I noticed a family scrambling right next to us because of swarming wasps! My family was quickly dispersed from our site due to these pesky pests as well. I remembered I had a bottle of Purification® in my purse, so I pulled it out, popped the lid open, set it down on the table, and declared, ‘This is my weapon of choice!’ Now sitting alone enjoying my meal, I noted that there were no wasps near me at all. So my family rejoined me, and we finished our meal in peace. As we were packing up our car, I looked back to see another family sitting down where we were and within minutes dispersing because the wasps were back! I should have gifted each table at the site with drops of Purification to ease those after us!” (These tips come directly from distributors and are passed on to you. “I used to suffer from dust mite allergies, especially during the winter months when everything is sealed up to keep out the cold. Now when I make my bed each week, I use Thieves® Spray on my pillows and bed sheets, which helps with my allergic reactions. I also spray the whole mattress when I strip the bed and mattress cover each month. Because I have hot air heating, more dust is generated in the winter months, and Thieves helps me control the situation.” (These tips come directly from distributors and are passed on to you. “A few drops of peppermint oil directly on black grease spots on carpet can remove the grease.* After you apply the oil, let it set for about ten seconds and then rub it out with a dry cloth. You can do this a few times, if needed, and then wipe it with a damp cloth. The spot will be gone and the carpet will smell refreshing!” (These tips come directly from distributors and are passed on to you. “When my A·R·T™ Gentle Foaming Cleanser bottle is empty, I fill it with Thieves® Household Cleaner and keep it by the kitchen sink. A pump of this provides a beautiful foamy cleaner and disinfectant, and I KNOW my hands are clean!” (These tips come directly from distributors and are passed on to you. “Every fall, we get mold growing on the siding of our house, so last October, I cleaned a 4 ft. X 4 ft. area with Thieves® Household Cleaner. I sprayed it on, scrubbed it with a brush, waited five minutes, and sprayed it down with the hose. I showed my husband how clean it was, but he still chose to clean the rest of the side of the house with bleach. This October, I looked at that side of the house. Again, the seasonal mold is all over the siding…except for the 4 ft. X 4 ft. area I cleaned with Thieves last year!” (These tips come directly from distributors and are passed on to you. “A few months ago, we had wildfires in our area and the smoke was horrible. Afterward, all of the drapes and upholstery, plus my convertible top, reeked of smoke. I added several drops of Purification™ to about a quart of water and sprayed it on the different fabrics.* I did this for two consecutive days and the smell was gone!” (These tips come directly from distributors and are passed on to you. “I had itchy skin on my abdomen and back and had not been able to discover the source. I tried several remedies before I remembered a seminar I had attended in San Diego where Gary Young used HarmonyT on people from the audience for allergies. I rubbed the Harmony on the general problem areas and within five minutes I was no longer itchy. And the effect lasts! Now if I even start to itch, I just grab the Harmony and the itch is gone.” (These tips come directly from distributors and are passed on to you. “Early one morning I let my dog, Peanut, out as usual. When she came back in the house, there was a distinct, strong odor. She had been sprayed by a skunk, and the smell was overwhelming. I immediately put Peanut in the tub and began scrubbing her with Animal ScentsTM Shampoo. When I finished, the skunk smell was entirely gone. I couldn’t believe it! The house still smelled of skunk, but my dog did not. Animal Scents was a great success!” (These tips come directly from distributors and are passed on to you. “I have found using KidScents® Tender Tush to be absolutely excellent for chapped, sore, and dry hard-working hands. I prepare my nails by doing the necessary cutting and pushing back of cuticles. Just before going to bed, I apply a small amount of Tender Tush to each cuticle, rub it in well, and then massage a bit more ointment over both hands, leaving it to work as I sleep. Upon waking, the hard and dry skin around the nails, as well as hang nails, have disappeared, leaving the skin smooth, soft, and rejuvenated. The results are very quick-usually one to two applications does the trick.” (These tips come directly from distributors and are passed on to you.
